Amanda
Amanda joined the crew at Ocean’s Edge as a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician with over 20 years of experience. Amanda specializes in body waxing, specifically bikini services, which she perfected in her hometown of Philadelphia. Her attention to detail, time efficiency, and a genuine care for her client’s wellbeing, allows her to connect on a personal level. Her confidence and ultra-professional approach creates a comfortable and pleasant experience. Having had advanced training in the med-spa arena, she has a vast knowledge in the art and science of skin care, and can help you find answers for your specific concerns. Facial services include rejuvenation, peels and microdermabrasion, skin care and sun protection, and make up for every day and special occasions! Whether it’s hair, skin, or waxing, Amanda is always committed to making your day a beautiful day!
Ashley
Ashely, a Buffalo, NY native, now calls South Carolina home. Bye, bye ice and snow! Hello Beach life. The OE crew couldn’t be happier! Ashley has been mastering the art of hair for 15+ years. Most recently, she owned her own salon called Beautymark by Ashley Ann. (Ask her about the inspiration for the name!) As a hair color specialist, she enjoys formulating the perfect custom color for you, including balayage, and custom foil design. Ashley is passionate about hair, and wants to ensure every guest leaves loving their whole experience at Ocean’s Edge. Ashley loves a good laugh and being the life of the party. (She came to the right place!) When she’s not inventing the next trends in hair, she’s on the golf course with her husband, Wes, trying to make par, or enjoying her delightful little daughter, Georgia Grace. Maureen
Maureen’s raison d’etre is fun, frolic and the pursuit of a good hair day. She is thrilled to have to opportunity to take the wheel at Ocean’s Edge! With over 30 years in the beauty business as both stylist and entrepreneur, she takes great pride in creating a welcoming environment for clients and crew alike. A people person, she likes to share experiences and the joy de vivre. She lives by the mantra if you walk away with a story to tell, you’re alright! A master colorist, she enjoys all aspects of color placement and design. She is expert in wielding shears and razor alike. On a lark, she ended up here in the Low Country, when she ran away from Pennsylvania after her snow shovel broke for the 3rd time! She is happy to call Surfside home since 2014! When she’s not carrying on at OE you’ll find her wandering the seaside with her besties, Margot and Papa Duck. Maureen looks forward to making you smile. Come on in and make yourself at home! Welcome aboard!
Jill
Meet Jill! Jill ditched the plains of Iowa to soak up the rays and chase the waves! What she brought with her; positive vibes, blonding boss status, (her favorites are balayage and baby lights) updo crusher, and that wide open charm Midwesterners are known for! Jill’s easy going personality warms you right up. When you get down to business, you’ll have a detail oriented, perfectionist by your side. Jill has been doing hair since 2014 and is up on all the latest and greatest trends. Away from the OE, Jill loves playing with her three rambunctious boys and helping them accelerate in all their pursuits. Treat yourself to an experience with this American Beauty and give yourself something to smile about!
Michele
Michele is a seasoned stylist from Staten Island, NY. She has over 10 years of experience and specializes in Color and Hair Extensions. Don’t be surprised if the whole crew at OE suddenly has hair that rivals Rapunzel and Lady Godiva! Michele is well versed in many systems of extensions. She’s traveled far and wide to take every extension class she could find. Her repertoire includes the latest trends, and of course, hand tied wefts. This application is long lasting and looks very natural! It’s great to hear the excitement in her voice during the consultation.Some would say obsessed! She will tell you it’s dedication to the art. She definitely has a passion for it!
Away from the chair, Michele enjoys spending time with her grown children, and spoiling her husband and fur baby. Michele loves exercising, the beach, and exercising on the beach! She has a natural sense of style and sophistication, along with that “Big Apple,” polish and shine! We are thrilled to have her on the team. Pop yourself into her chair and explore the possibilities of having the hair you never thought possible!
Hannah
Hannah is a true native! She’s from right here in Myrtle Beach. Hannah has had a lifelong interest in hair and makeup due to her participation in pageants from the time she was an itty, bitty baby until she turned 20. She loves doing dimensional color and tape in extensions. She’s had tape ins for over 10 years, herself and is obsessed! She loves doing hair and makeup for events, pageants, weddings, photo shoots, etc. She also does super cool fantasy makeup. (Ask to see the scary clown, if you’re not afraid!) Hannah enjoys the creative process and revels in how amazing it is to help her guests transform their look, both subtly or drastically! She likes to make people laugh and isn’t afraid to chuckle at herself. She has 8 years of experience in the service, tourism and hospitality industries, and that has really primed her for her career in the beauty world. When she’s not dolling people up at OE, you’ll find this total water hippie soaking up the rays on the beach, or boat with her flame, Austin, and family and friends. Hannah’s hobbies include surfing, tanning, wakeboarding, eating delicious food, and learning ukulele! Other interests include western and bohemian fashion and all things coastal life! Sharon
Sharon is a hoot! She bounced (imagine Tigger from Winnie the Pooh) into the OE one day and we haven’t been the same since. This Jersey girl has had her hand in hair, both as an owner and operator for 30 years and is well versed in so many areas. She is Ouidad Curly Hair System Certified, is a wiz with color, does hair extensions, toppers, tie ins, tape ins and beads, you name it! She exudes an absolute mastery of the art and it shows in the smiles on the faces of her clients. Sharon has three gorgeous men in her life! Her two beautiful, grown sons and a wonderful husband, She is known to dote on her two darling fur babies to the extreme! (We dig that about her!) Sharon loves the outdoors, especially sunrises. She enjoys beach and lake life, golfing, biking and walking in the sand. Sharon is generous and good natured with a quick wit, and is a born prankster. She is one of a kind! Just like Tigger! We simply don’t know how we made it without her. You’ll feel the same!
Eliza
Meet Eliza! Eliza brings a natural elegance to wherever she is! A master at men’s clipper cuts. (Magazine quality! Hey man!) And all lengths of design, from long layers to pixies. Add a custom color to really pump up your jam. Eliza is a born educator and helps her clients achieve the look that fits their personality and lifestyle. From the consultation to at home hair care, you’ve got it! She also does an amazing eyebrow shape and tint service. While in her native Brazil, Eliza studied waxing services for 6 months. Her technique of brow shaping is like nothing you’ve ever experienced. (I’m obsessed. She actually uses plumb lines, maps out your brows and makes them perfect.) Eliza worked in healthcare for 14 years before pursuing her passion for hair fashion. We are so lucky to have this serene woman on our team. I know you’ll appreciate her as much as we do!
Missy
Missy Estes, aka “pommy mommy”, is a self-proclaimed spa addict, mermaid, and dog mom. Coming from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Missy has finally landed her dream job near the ocean after almost two decades of experience in treatment rooms and behind the chair crafting stunning hair and makeup. Being easy to talk to and down to earth will allow you to love a session in her chair or on her table. Missy offers luxury spa facials, body wraps, scrubs, and all hair services.

Jamie
Jamie, originally from Tennessee, has lived in South Carolina since 2013, and calls the beach her home. She graduated from Strand College of Hair Design in 2023. And, also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature with a minor in Education from Clemson University…GO TIGERS! She is passionate about knowledge and education, and loves to participate in the many realms of cosmetology, including bridal hair and makeup artistry, haircuts, perms and more.
Even though she is super busy building her career, Jamie enjoys spending time with her German Shepherd, Cruise, family game night, tanning by the pool, (lathered in SPF, of course!) and anything Halloween related. We are grateful to have Jamie on the OE Team and the opportunity to help launch her at the beginning of what we know will be an amazing career. We’re all ROOTING FOR YOU! (Excuse the pun.)
Kathryn
Kathryn, a native to the Carolinas, is a seasoned massage therapist with over 25 years of experience. She is nationally certified with SC licensure as a massage therapist and as a certified occupational therapy assistant. While living in Charlotte, NC, Kathryn’s doctor referred her to a massage therapist to relieve the chronic pain she was suffering from a car accident. Little did she know that this referral would lead her to discovering her life path. “After experiencing my first massage, I was hooked. I knew this was the profession for me.” Choosing this path meant pursuing the best training possible and moving. Kathryn feels her journey was blessed with the opportunity to attend Henry Lafleur’s Bancroft School of Massage Therapy, outside Boston. Post graduation, Kathryn opened a spa in Bristol, RI, Time to Unwind. After running her business for 13 years, she decided it was time to return to the Carolinas. “Once I sold the snow blower, it was time to leave.” Now a resident of Surfside Beach, Kathryn is thrilled to be a part of the Ocean’s Edge Family. “I am honored to share my knowledge, experience and hand on skills with our patrons.” Each treatment is always individualized to meet each client’s unique needs. Kathryn’s certifications include medical/orthopedic massage, LeFleur Swedish relaxation, myofascial release techniques, neuromuscular work, women’s specialty massage therapies, lymphatic drainage, prenatal massage, reflexology, sports massage, assisted stretching, and hot stone massage with thermal therapy.
In Memoriam; Tom Tom Ruch Ruch 10.07.1951 – 12.14.2022
According to the famed Doc Holliday, one of Tom’s favorite theatrical roles, “In the end, all systems fail.” And, so it was that our beloved Papa Duck flew off. He was surrounded by some of the many who cherished him. He loved to inspire and conspire for fun, badness and just because he could! Music, math and mischief were but a few of his fortes. He was a sharp and witty punster who left an impression on anyone brave enough to know him. Tom did not know fear as it did not serve him. He had a penchant for looking life in the eye, or the barrel of a gun, as it were…he once stood down an armed robber with nothing but his pointer finger. That was a crazy time! But, like we always say, you’re alright as long as you walk away with a story to tell.
